How to Mix Spices
I’ve been using this mix for years now! I discovered Turkish coffee with cardamom at a hip Portland restaurant and loooooved the flavor. I mixed this up and use it with coffee in my French press, add to baked goods like muffins, cookies, and pancakes. Sprinkle on top of fruit with fresh whipped cream. It’s versatile so I make a pint mix each time!
Where to Buy Organic Spices
For years I bought mine from the grocery store until I discovered Thrive Market. After comparing prices I decided to save some money and sign up for Thrive. They have the best deal on natural lotion for our family also! Here are some of the spices.
If you’d rather not join thrive try Azure Standard. I buy my organic whole red wheat bread flour here for my sourdough bread. At just $1 per pound it’s a much better deal than I can find locally or online. Anyway, they have bulk spices that are also an excellent value!
Recipe
3/4 Cup Cinnamon, or the whole package, 2.24 oz
7 Tbls. Cardamom, or the whole package, 1.3 oz
4 Tbls. Nutmeg
3 Tbls. Ginger
1 Tbls. Cloves
1 Tbls. Turmeric
1/2 tsp. Black pepper
1/2 tsp. Cayenne
Add to a pint jar and shake!
Makes a great Christmas gift also!
